Provisional Statement 

The Chinook Club of America was founded in 2003 for the purpose of preserving the Chinook breed while gaining Parent Club status with The American Kennel Club.  The Constitution and Bylaws, which govern this Club, were designed with this purpose in mind.  This document will be in a Bylaws Review Committee until the year 2005.  During this time Chinook Club of America members will have the opportunity to offer further input and recommendations. 

The Chinook Club of America Official Standard for the Chinook, a document based on the Chinook standard recognized by the United Kennel Club, Inc., will be reviewed by the Standard & Judges Education Committee until 2005 for adherence to the needs of the Chinook breed. 

The founding Board of Directors of the Chinook Club of America will serve in office until Club elections in 2007.

The mission of the Chinook Club of America is to serve the Chinook breed and its fancier in a manner that preserves the breed’s rich history and secures a sound future.  It is through the participation of devoted owners and breeders that these goals will be fulfilled.  The Chinook Club of America actively seeks the input of its members to capture the diverse nature of the Chinook breed and its fanciers.

The Chinook Club of America’s Mission Statement

Ø     To protect and advance the interests and welfare of the Chinook breed.

Ø     To assist the Chinook in its progression toward American Kennel Club recognition without sacrificing the integrity, health or soundness of the breed.

Ø     To promote ethical breeding practices and encourage DNA-parent verification of Chinooks and their litters.

Ø     To encourage participation and good sportsmanship in training and exhibiting at all dog events in which the Chinook may participate.
